Feb 9 today I went for my 4th round of chemo. This is the last round for this medication. I am still all stuffy and coughing, but my blood counts are good. The nurse says she hears some wheezing in my chest and asks how I'm doing. I don't feel like it is anything in my chest, just congested in my head and nose. So we go for the chemo. Hubby and I took the kids nintendo ds games and played those during treatment.

Feb 16 I still have this cold and can't get much done except sleeping. I'm just worn out and run down. I call the nurse from my oncologist and she calls me in an antibiotic. Hopefully this will help.

Feb 23 i go for my 1st round of the new medication chemo. My nurse decides that I am still not any better with my cold and decides it is best to hold off on the chemo. Since it is new medications and I am already run down she thinks it is best to wait. She thinks I have a sinus infection and since I've been sick the last 4 weeks it is best. So I get the needle taken out of my port and go home with no chemo. I am to return the following week for the new treatment.

Feb 28 I am doing a little better today. The antibiotic seems to be working, had to get a refill on it. I still have a runny nose and coughing stuff up, but I can sleep through the night now, well, I wake up about every hour, but not due to coughing, just because I can't sleep through the night. This has been going on for the last few weeks. I haven't had a menstrul cycle since I told my oncologist so that is good. One good thing.... I no longer need to shave my legs or underarms! I do however need to shave parts of my head every week. It still comes in here and there. My skin is very dry too, from the chemo. I can put on lotion, but an hour later I look like an aligator again. Hopefully I'll be well enough to get the chemo tomorrow. I am a bit nervous, being new medication and all, but they seem to think I'll do just fine since the first 4 rounds were supposed to be the worst of it. I no longer get to talk to the women who were having treatments the same day as I, since I'll now be on the other week when they are off. So I'll get to meet all new people. Wish me luck.
